SEVĀ

Service Within the Himalayan Siddhashram Guru Parampara

"Sevā is refinement. Sevā becomes the natural expression of gratitude and alignment with the lineage."

The Philosophy

The Spirit of Sevā

Sevā is not charity.

It is participation in Dharma.

When a disciple serves, ego gradually softens. Ownership dissolves. Alignment strengthens.

Sevā purifies intention and stabilises the relationship with Guru Tattva.

It is not measured by scale. It is measured by sincerity.

Avenues of Participation

Forms of Sevā

Sevā may take many forms, according to capacity and circumstance.

01

1. Practice-Based Sevā

Maintaining disciplined daily Sādhana with integrity is the highest service to the Parampara. A steady practitioner strengthens the lineage current.

02

2. Time and Skill-Based Sevā

Disciples may contribute through:

  • Administrative assistance
  • Technical or website support
  • Event organisation
  • Translation or documentation
  • Communication support

Each offering is aligned with ability and availability.

03

3. Ashram and Physical Support

When the physical ashram space becomes operational, practical assistance in maintenance, organisation, and collective practice may be undertaken.

04

4. Guru-Dakṣiṇā (Voluntary Offering)

Guru Dakshina, when offered, is entirely voluntary.

Dakṣiṇā is an expression of Shraddhā, not transaction.
Discipline

Responsibility Within Sevā

  • Humility
  • Discipline
  • Confidentiality
  • Alignment with Guru-āgya
"It is not a platform for recognition or authority. Service strengthens refinement, not status."
The Highest Service

The Inner Sevā

Beyond visible activity lies the highest form of service:

01 Maintaining purity of intention.
02 Preserving maryādā.
03 Protecting the Parampara through conduct.

"When the disciple lives Dharma sincerely, Sevā is fulfilled."
